Cheah Shie Yee, who goes by Cherry, holds a Bachelor of Laws, LLB (Hons) from the University of London. She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2013.
Cherry began her career as a legal associate at Messrs. Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong before going onto continue her legal practice at Messrs. Cheang & Ariff.
Cherry’s area of practice primarily consists of corporate real estate and corporate banking.
In real estate, she represented developers in concluding sale transactions and also represented individuals or corporations in the acquisition and disposal of their properties for both residential and commercial properties.
In corporate banking, Cherry has been involved in different types of financing, including bridging loan financing, term loan financing and project financing (for both conventional and Islamic). She also provides legal advice and opinions to financier clients regarding foreign financing transactions as well as the enforceability and legality of Malaysia’s financing documentation in foreign countries.
