Mohammad Afif bin Daud (Afif) is a holder of Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons) (First Class) and Bachelor of Laws/LLB (Hons) (First Class) from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Besides whipping up the prestigious Vice-Chancellor Award during his time there, Afif’s reputation for being one of the university’s brightest graduates was also awarded in the form of the Tan Sri Arshad Ayub Excellence Award and Tun Abdul Razak Award, during UiTM’s 79th Convocation in 2013 and 81st Convocation in 2014, for his respective Bachelor Degrees.
Afif started his legal career with Messrs. Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill as a pupil and legal associate in the Corporate and Commercial Disputes Practice Group. Afif assisted and exposed to corporate and commercial litigation and advisory works including land disputes, land reference proceedings, shareholder disputes, recovery, regulatory compliance work, administrative and public law, defamation and judicial review proceedings.
Prior to becoming one of the founding partners of Afif Rahman & Chong, Afif joined the Corporate and M&A (Foreign Investments) Practice Group of Messrs. Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill where he assisted in relation to corporate and commercial transactions and advisory works including company incorporation and restructuring, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, company law and commercial agreements. Afif also advises on immigration law particularly on the application of work permits and professional pass.
Afif is one of the contributing editors for The Malaysian Civil Procedure 2015 (Sweet & Maxwell) and the co-author of “Who is the Malay” (published in Current Law Journal (CLJ) –  1 LNS(A) iii ) and “Fundamental Liberties and Islam in Malaysia”.
