Nur Nadia Ahmad Jaidi (Nadia)

Nur Nadia Ahmad Jaidi (Nadia) graduated with a First Class Honors in Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2021. Upon her graduation, Nadia commenced her pupillage in Messrs Rashid Zulkifli under the tutelage of Mr. Abdul Rashid Ismail.

She was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in August 2022 and thereafter began her legal career as an associate in Messrs Rashid Zulkifli upon her admission.

During her pupillage and her first year as an associate, Nadia gained exposure to various practice areas mainly focusing on civil and commercial litigation such as fraud, director and shareholder’s disputes, contractual disputes, defamation, banking and debt recovery, amongst others. She has also gained experience in criminal litigation involving capital cases, offences under the Penal Code, Immigration Act 1959/63 and Food Act 1983. She was further involved in pro bono criminal defense work where she represented more than 120 clients on death row and successfully commuted the death sentence of more than 50 death row prisoners at the Federal Court pursuant to the Abolition of the Mandatory Death Penalty Act 2023.

Nadia has now embarked on her next legal career as an associate in Messrs Afif Rahman & Chong handling non-contentious litigation works with a keen interest in expanding her legal knowledge and experience to corporate law, regulatory and compliance, and corporate advisory.

Her corporate and commercial experience spans joint ventures, disposal and acquisition of business and shares as well as drafting of shareholders agreements, supply and distribution agreements. In addition, she has substantial experience in real estate transactions, encompassing joint venture, disposal and acquisition of real estate, lease, tenancy, and financing documents. She also provides legal advisory on a wide range of development projects, including industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties.

She has assisted clients across various industries, including retail, distribution, food and beverage, poultry and commodity supply, property development, construction and project management.

Now at Messrs Afif Rahman & Chong, she continues to provide legal advice on a broad spectrum of corporate, commercial and real estate matters, leveraging her extensive experience to deliver tailored solutions for clients.
